It's the first of a new generation of aircraft that despite more than three years of delay holds the promise to fly faster, farther and with more fuel efficiency and passenger comfort than /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Boeing is resuming its 787 certification program with the Federal Aviation Administration this week nearly two months after the program was put on hold due to a brief in flight fire. Flight testing resumed last month, and with FAA certification testing now taking place, Boeing also announced a revised delivery schedule for the long delayed first customer aircraft.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;The airplane maker is now saying it expects delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner during the third quarter of this year. It did not provide a specific date. This means that launch customer All Nippon Airways won’t be getting its new carbon composite airplane until after July. The Japanese airline originally expected to be flying its new airplane in May of 2008.
